Tech Time

What is Tech Time?

Tech Time events are presented by the Techrangers team of the Center for Distributed Learning. They are presented to demonstrate the "nuts and bolts" functions of various computer-related applications. These sessions target intermediate to advanced web designers interested in furthering their web design skills. These are hands-on, in-depth sessions held in the Center for Distributed Learning offices for Students, Faculty, Staff, and Campus Webmasters. Seating is limited so you must RSVP if interested.

Contact us if you are interested at having the Techrangers present for your on-campus event or class. Stay tuned for future events!

UDOIT Workshop

UCF's Center for Distributed Learning has developed an easy-to-use tool that looks through your online course and finds possible issues that could prevent a student from accessing the content due to a disability. It's called The Universal Design Online content Inspection Tool, or UDOIT (pronounced, "You Do It"), and this workshop will go over the history and give a demonstration of the tool. After the demonstration, you will have an opportunity to run UDOIT on your own course, and we can show you how to make the most of your results. Check out the UDOIT page for more information.

Using JAWS with Canvas

April 10th, 2013

The University of Central Florida's new learning management system, Canvas, has brought many changes to teaching and learning. While the new system is generally more accessible than its predecessor, it can present some challenges for users of screen reader software such as JAWS. This session, presented by CDL's own usability guru Munawar Bijani, will provide techniques and resources to optimize the teaching and learning experience with JAWS and Canvas.

This session is recommended for all students, faculty, and staff that use or provide support to users of JAWS with Canvas.
